Description

This children’s picture book looks at bringing awareness of the way we are living to tamariki and whānau and is a great family library, classroom or Early Childhood reading resource. The book encourages children to think of ways to help Papatūānuku and her friendly worms by engaging to find solutions for a more secure and sustainable future together.

A J Copping’s first children’s book – Papatūānuku has a Tummy Ache!

For the reader: Papatūānuku in Māori “creation stories” is the Earth Mother. This Earth is where we live, where we grow our food and from which we gain sustenance. As we continue to fill our landfills with toxic non-biodegradable rubbish, her puku and friendly worms are all suffering. What can the children do to help save Papatūānuku and secure a healthy sustainable future?

For the listener: Papatūānuku has a tummy ache and the friendly worms that live inside her puku are coughing and spluttering. Tamariki come and listen and see how we could give the worms and Paptūānuku some help to get better.
