Origami.NZ by Arielle handcrafts origami jewelry and trinkets made from a
combination of local New Zealand materials and authentic Japanese yuzen
washi paper. The style of the pieces involve range from a number of
traditional designs, some of which have Japanese historical meaning or
symbolism attached to it. For example, the paper crane is considered as a
symbol of world peace and hope, with this particular origami being
attached to the story of Sadako and the 1000 paper cranes. It is also
used as a charm that brings luck and happiness.
The origami are hardened with a vinyl coating to make them sturdier, water-resistant and
more durable. Production takes around 1 to 2 weeks and the delivery dates are
based on which country the buyer is from, though the length of delivery
time can be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
These dainty and intricate earrings are elegant statement accessories that goes with any
type of outfit, from casual street wear to formal dress. They also make
for unique presents to both loved ones and yourself! Also, all of the
origami paper are folded from authentic Japanese yuzen washi paper,
which means that most pieces have bold colors and intricate patterns
highlighted with gold detailing, giving them a little bit of sparkke
that makes them stand out from other paper jewelry.
Using origami jewelry, we hope to spread the appreciation for this ancient art of
paper folding in order to help (even in a small way) kep the tradition
alive and appreciated by different generations.
Please note: the paper used for the origami pieces are cut from 15 x 15cm origami paper,
so the design on them might be slightly different from the images shown
