‘No one went to town’ by Phyllis Johnston

‘No one went to town’ is the exciting true story of May Tarrant and her family breaking in a farm in the high steep hills of Taranaki in the North Island of New Zealand in the early 1900’s.

This book was originally published in the 1980’s and reprinted several times. It is well known and much loved by so many, most of whom had it read aloud to them at school. The comments section on the Chooice facebook page have been full of wonderful memories. In 2017, this book was reprinted by the family and then reprinted later that year due to high demand. It is softcover and has all the original illustrations.
