Large Carved Rimu Kereru Feather Art

The Kereru, or native wood pigeon, is another of New Zealand’s most treasured birds. They are large, rotund pigeons that may be found in the foliage of large trees around the North Island including in back yards of Kiwi homes. The feathers of the Kereru have a subtle iridescence and are coloured grey-green-purple.

This piece has been individually hand crafted from a piece of rimu timber and finished with paint and graphite to achieve a subtle colour change effect. A d-ring is installed on the rear and the feather is ready to be hung, d-ring may be fitted to either end of the feather. Measures 53 x 12 x 2 cm.
