Kawakawa is pretty much the super herb of the forest. It can be consumed as a tea to aid digestion and stomach upsets, made into a poultice to treat wounds or a balm to soothe skin irritations including minor burns and cuts. Kawakawa also has anti-inflammatory properties.
Peppermint oil aids in the relief from muscle and joint pain.
Patchouli oil is used to reduce pain and inflammation and is great for treating eczema.
Olive oil is used as the carrier oil. It is an anti-oxidant, contains vitamins A, D, E and K and has anti-bacterial properties. Olive oil is a great moisturiser.
Beeswax is used to help set the balm. Beeswax has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that aid in the healing of wounds. It is protective, it holds in moisture thereby reducing skin dryness. It also creates a barrier on the skin protecting it from the environment. Beeswax can be used to treat acne, eczema and stretch marks.
