Glass Art: Large encased floral earrings – reds/multicolour

These unique and beautiful glass pieces have been lovingly handmade from scratch.
The encased floral earrings on this page – this is a gorgeous purple-blue is and approx 13-15mm wide. The base bead is made using a unique glass containing a high quantity of pure silver. The silver reacts with the gases used to melt the glass and creates beautiful multicolours. The next two layers are used to make the flowers. The final layer encases everything and creates a swirling, water-colour effect, while also resulting in a smooth round form.
Ear hooks are handmade from solid sterling silver. Tiny sterling silver bead caps are attached to the bottom of the earrings and a tiny Swarovski crystal has been embedded into the top of each earring.
PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH BEAD IS HANDMADE SO EACH PAIR WILL CONTAIN TWO SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT BEADS – THIS ADDS TO THEIR UNIQUE BEAUTY.

Description
Selma is a self-taught lampwork artist, and she has been creating glass pieces for nearly fourteen years. Using soft glass rods, imported from Venice and a specialised “lampwork” torch, these unique little pieces of art are created, one at a time. She then uses a specialised kiln to cool down the glass as well as annealing/hardening it.
